UPDATE: MARCH 18, 2020
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING COVID19
Dear Residents, Patients, and Family Members of Sterling Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation,
We know that you may be concerned about the spread of the COVID-19/Coronavirus and how it may impact us here at Sterling Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation (SV). Ensuring residents and patients are cared for in a safe and healthy environment and manner is our greatest concern. We thank you for the role you are playing in helping to keep your loved one, and all those we serve, safe and healthy in these trying times.
At this time, we don’t have any cases in our long-term care or short-term rehabilitation programs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Centers of Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), the Commonwealth’s Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) have recommended a variety of steps that we have implemented to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our facilities. We remain in close contact with the local and state, and federal health departments, and we are following their guidance. We do, however, need your help in controlling COVID-19, and we have some examples of how you can help protect residents, as well as prevent the spread throughout our local and residential community.
For family members and friends, please note that we are not allowing visitors to Sterling Village until further notice. The only exception will be in the case of certain compassionate care situations such as end-of-life, or for the provision of medically necessary services by an essential healthcare provider. Under these circumstances, visitation will be permitted (with the use of a face mask) only after passing a thorough screening process.
We understand that connecting with loved ones is incredibly important, and there are a variety of other ways you might consider maintaining contact with those you care about. These ways include, but are not limited to, telephone, email, text, or through Facetime, Skype or Facebook. Sterling Village will be implementing a Virtual Visitation program to be launched on March 20. Click here to download more information Virtual Visitation Instructions
Please be aware that Sterling Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation is following the directives of the CDC, CMS, DPH and EOEA on prevention measures, including following strict handwashing procedures, and, when required, in appropriate circumstances, wearing gowns, gloves, and masks when interacting with residents. We also are monitoring and implementing additional CDC, CMS, DPH and EOEA directives as they are updated.
We will keep you updated on the status of our facility and what we are doing to keep our resident safe. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Kim Archambault, Executive Director at 978-895-0147 or Michelle Doucimo, Director of Nursing at 508-450-0802.
